Individual coaching
Two hours in which we create space for exploration.
A trajectory of ten integrative coaching sessions, in Utrecht or online. No fixed method and no agenda — the time goes to what is truly at play.
The way you are present determines what you can perceive. And the way you perceive deepens your presence.
What you bring determines where we begin.

Exploration is not yet deepening.
Coaching here is not a technique you learn to apply. It is a change in the place from which you look — and that resonates in what you perceive, what you weigh, and what you react to.
Much of this work begins with a business question and touches upon something personal along the way. That is not a detour. That is where the change comes from.
In entrepreneurship
Decisions gain a different foundation. Not faster or slower, but with less noise — the difference between a choice born of reaction and one born of direction becomes noticeable in the moment itself.
In leadership
Presence is not a soft skill but a physiological fact: your state partly determines what a team can say and dare. And that state is noticeable before a single word is spoken.
Personal
What remained out of sight for a long time is given a place. Not as an insight you remember, but as something that moves with you in how you act.
What it does not do: give you a method that you can unleash on every situation. What changes here is not what you apply, but where you come from.
Working with a team as a whole follows its own trajectory: team coaching with systemic constellations and connection work.
Where it begins
Where this work begins.
The trajectory is the same: ten two-hour sessions, spread out by mutual agreement. What differs is the question someone enters with — and the language that goes with it.
Entrepreneurial Coaching
Space between you and the business again
For founders and owners. Work around the pace a company demands, and the foundation on which you make your decisions.

Presence that resonates
For executives and management. Work around the state from which you lead — and what a team dares or does not dare to say as a result.

Grounding at a turning point
For those who see something defining fall away: meaning, recovery after illness, or a role that ends after years.
More about personal coaching →The trajectory
Ten sessions, and the time in between.
A trajectory consists of ten two-hour sessions. The pace is not fixed: usually there are two to four weeks in between, but what is appropriate differs per person and per period.
That space between sessions is not a break. What deepens in a session needs time to resonate — sometimes something only surfaces weeks later, sometimes a pattern suddenly feels different. That is why we do not work weekly.
After each session, you receive a personal report: what we explored, what appeared, what lingers, with exercises for the following weeks. This way, you do not just continue with what you happen to remember.

Whether this is the appropriate form will be discussed during the introductory meeting. Sometimes a day retreat is a more logical start, and sometimes this work is not what is needed — in which case I will say so.
The method
No fixed form. But a fixed start.
A session rarely begins with content. It begins with landing — arriving in the body and in the space. From there, we see what has resonated since the last time, and what presents itself today.
What follows is custom work. Sometimes it unfolds in conversation, sometimes in a somatic exploration, a constellation, visualization, or psychodynamic work. No method is leading; the working method follows what the subject and the nervous system require, not the other way around.
What remains constant is the attention: slower than usual, broader than just what is being said. The body participates. Silence is information. What presents itself is given space without needing to be solved immediately.
Towards the end, we take time to embody what has appeared. Insight alone often does not survive the week — it must land in the body to travel with you. At the same time, we ensure you walk back out connected and standing on your own two feet.
What it rests upon
Presence before method.
A session is not carried by what is said, but by the quality of presence — calm enough for a nervous system to relax, concentrated enough that what presents itself is seen.
Beneath that lie three foundations. They are not in the foreground; they become visible in what happens, not in what I tell you about them.
Transformational Presence
Presence as the first intervention. Before working towards anything, space is given to what presents itself. What appears is often where the work truly begins. Alan Seale, who developed this approach, wrote the foreword to my book.
Being Orientation
Three words that carry the entire movement: notice, let go, allow. Nothing is solved immediately. First, see what is there — and stay there long enough to let something shift.
Polyvagal-informed practice
The nervous system decides faster than thought. Whether someone is in alarm, at rest, or somewhere in between, determines what can be felt, heard, and received. Attention is given to that, because it touches everything.
Multidisciplinary and dogma-free. The instrument is ultimately simple: the ability to stay with what is, without fixing, without fleeing, without filling the silence.
The limits of this work
Where this work ends.
Coaching is not treatment. In the case of acute psychological complaints, a diagnosis that requires care, or a situation where stabilization is paramount, a BIG-registered practitioner is the appropriate path. Sometimes alongside coaching, often first. If that is the case, I will say so.
This work requires time and willingness. Not as a prerequisite, but as something that proves necessary along the way. We do not work towards an instrument that you then apply independently; what changes here cannot be completed in three sessions.
And it goes through the uncomfortable. If it turns out the willingness for that is not there, I will name it and conclude. That is not a judgment on who is sitting there — it is the only way this work remains honest.
Three directors
What changed, in their own words.
“Through his way of coaching, Steven helped me return to the core. This helped me first as a person, but ultimately also as an entrepreneur to take steps.”
“He alternates between asking poignant questions, observing, listening, mirroring, and confronting at a high level. You feel comfortable with him in no time and really get to the core.”
“The peace Steven brings you to gain insight into yourself and get to work at your own pace is perfect.”
Before you decide
The questions you ask before you say yes.
Why ten sessions?
Because what changes here cannot be completed in a few conversations. Time is needed to explore, and then time to let it land in the weeks between sessions. The number is not a formula — in the introductory meeting, we discuss whether this scope fits what is going on.
What if a trajectory stops halfway?
Then the remaining sessions will be refunded. You can stop at any time, for any reason. This also applies if I suggest concluding the trajectory myself.
Is coaching tax-deductible as business expenses?
Coaching related to your business or your role is generally deductible as business expenses. The exact treatment depends on your situation and legal form; your accountant can best assess this. Invoices are issued in the company name if you wish.
Does online work as well as on location?
For much of the work, yes. In body-oriented and systemic work, physical presence makes a difference, so in practice, we often alternate. We determine what fits when along the way.
What is the difference with therapy?
Therapy is treatment and works with complaints that require care; for that, a BIG-registered practitioner is the appropriate path. Coaching works with what is possible from the point where someone stands now. The two are not mutually exclusive — sometimes they run alongside each other.
Can I also do a day retreat first?
Yes. A day retreat around one theme is a way to experience how this work feels before starting a trajectory. Some people consciously do it in that order. View the retreats.

Introduction
An exploration of thirty minutes.
No intake, no sales pitch, no obligation. One conversation in which we explore what is at play and whether this way of working is a fit. What a trajectory brings you, you only know afterwards — whether there is a click, you will notice in thirty minutes.
